Self-Healing

There are a good many things out there that can wreak havoc on our bodies. Stress and lack of sleep. Unhealthy food. Pollution. Medications and vaccines. We have a tendency to rely on outside help to heal us when we get sick (like doctors). The thing is, there is only so much a doctor can do. True healing requires active participation. True healing requires the self.

Lately, I have come into contact with a chest cold. Under normal conditions, colds do not effect me much. However, because of the holidays I am working more hours at my retail job. On top of that, I am still trying to get the usual holiday prep work done. It is difficult for me to get regular sleep. As I feel the cold symptoms coming on, I am asking my heart and my body for guidance.

I definitely feel the need to take more Vitamin C. In fact, when I get colds like this I tend to mega-dose it. My mom used to give it to me when I was young and it always seemed to help. As I've gotten older and have done the research I now know why. Vitamin C has been proven to reduce stress in the body, but it also works extremely well on colds. Anything that has to do with sinus or chest congestion can be helped with Vitamin C. The fact that it is water soluble means you cannot overdose it. You body will get rid of excess naturally. (Note this is not meant to be medical advice. It is simply something I do to help myself. It is important to do your own research and ask for medical help if and when you need it.)

There are times when I ask and thoughts come to take other herbs as well. I won't go into detail here. Suffice it to say, I research--especially when I come across a new idea through either my heart or divine "coincidences". Asking is extremely important because it opens you to new paths of knowledge and understanding.

The last thing I do is ask for divine help and protection. I ask my own angels to guard and protect me from other things that could weaken my immune system. I picture protective shielding around myself and I actively call on the Universe to bring healing energy to my body. We are all able to call on archangel Raphael as well, who is in charge of healing.

Understand that any healing that takes place in your own body is there because you have willed it. Illness does not have to defeat you unless you are ready to let go of this lifetime. Listen to your body and your heart and they will help you do all those things you need to do to heal yourself!
